Welcome to PHYS-ED & HEALTH class
As a Physical Education teacher I am committed to providing students with life long skills, routines, and a strong foundation of physical education and health curricular studies that ensures "Success for Every Student." This is an important component to living a healthy life and establishing good healthy habits as young students that can be carried on into adulthood. By teaching this important information students will have enhanced quality of life, improved sense of well being and a love of being active and healthy.
Exercise promotes children's growth and development, improves fitness, strengthens bones, and strengthens muscles. Please encourage your children to get 60 minutes of physical activity a day and remind them to wear loose fitting clothing and sneakers on the days they have gym class.
Keep moving, stay strong and motivated!
How to add more exercise into your daily routine:
Stand instead of sit
Take the stairs instead of the elevator
Take a longer route when walking
Work out by doing chores (add squats, lunges, and stretches)
Choose a form of exercise that you truly enjoy
Run in place for 30 seconds, recover (do as many sets as you can)
Wall sit while reading
When walking add bursts of running, then recover
Practice spelling, do a jumping jack for each letter
Raking leaves, walking the dog, sweeping, and shoveling snow are all moving exercises
