About Us

PS 14 The Fairview is located at 107-01 Otis Avenue and 108th Street in the Heart of Corona in District 24 New York City. Our school is 108 years young! We have deep connections to Corona, Queens, rich with history and tradition.

Do you know why our school is named “The Fairview School”? It’s because we had a view of the World’s Fairs in 1939 and 1964. The ’39 theme was “The World of Tomorrow”, and the ’64 theme was "Peace through Understanding" dedicated to "Man's Achievement on a Shrinking Globe in an Expanding Universe".

Mission

The PS 14 mission is to create a community where students, parents and staff work together to inspire leaders who innovate, own their learning, and empower one another so we can be our best selves.

Vision

The PS 14 Vision is to inspire learners to challenge themselves to build a better future for all.

Instructional Focus

At PS 14 we believe that all children have talents and strengths. We strive to engage all students in enriching and inspiring ways. All students take at least one semester of the following courses EVERY year: dance, theater, music/piano, engineering, computer science 4 all, and SEL (social/emotional learning through visual arts). We believe in kindness and courage, and we believe that adults and children alike are ultimately responsible for our own learning, growth, and improvement. As a Leader in Me school, we practice 8 Habits of Highly Effective People with a goal of “owning our own learning.” Students have voice and choice in their learning, and we partner with parents— the people who know their children best— to best support all students.

NYS ELA Test will be on Wednesday, April 15th and Thursday, April 16th, 2026,

On Wednesday, April 15th and Thursday, April
16th, 2026, our school will be administering the
New York State English Language Arts (ELA) test to
all eligible students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades.

Our 10th Annual Sustainable STEAM Expo Is Almost Here!

Join us on Tuesday March 3rd from 3:30-5:30 for fun STEAM activities with community partners like Queens Zoo, Biobus, American Museum of Natural History, and more. Take a look at the K-5 class science and engineering projects and cheer on our Trash to Treasure and Rube Goldberg contest winners.
